company history

Border was formed in 1990 by a consortium of independent merchants as a support company. We started writing the first version of CounterAct in 1992 and have been developing and selling our own software ever since.

Border is based in Monmouth on the border between England and Wales. Border operates on a sound financial footing. We own our own premises in Monmouth. We reinvest profits to maintain the long term security of the business.

We have merchant customers all over the UK - builders’ merchants, plumbers’ merchants, timber merchants, roofing merchants, ironmongers and specialist kitchen and bathroom suppliers. Our customers range from small single site family run businesses to large multi-branch organisations.

We only sell CounterAct to suppliers to the building industry; we are not involved in any other industries.

Our mission is to provide "first class support for first class software"
